High Lifter Portal Gear Lifts add a gear reduction at the wheel hubs, creating additional ground clearance while improving power delivery to the tires. All High Lifter portals are engineered with forged gear boxes and precision-machined components, delivering exceptional strength and durability that surpass both cast and billet alternatives. Combine that with industry-proven gearing option and heavy-duty backing plates, these portals are built to withstand the harshest conditions. This results in a stronger, more capable Outlander that can turn larger tires with confidence while maintaining the durability and reliability riders expect.
Industry Leading Strength
All High Lifter Portal Gear Lifts are manufactured with forged gear boxes offering more strength and durability than cast or billet alternatives.
The forging process aligns the aluminum grain structure with the shape of the gear box offering increased durability
Greatly improves resistance to fatigue and cracking during aggressive riding conditions
Increased impact resistance helps protect the gear boxes for riders who regularly encounter rocks and roots hidden in the mud
All gears are CNC machined and heat-treated for a precise fit and dependable performance
Backing plates are constructed from heavy-duty 5/16” steel and have integrated bent flanges and additional gussets welded on for extra rigidity
Easily handles the stress of larger tires and the increased torque generated with the internal gear reductions
Long-term Durability
Keeping contaminants out of your gear boxes is important for the longevity of your portal gear lifts. High Lifter portals utilize multiple layers seals to keep your Outlander riding smooth.
Kevlar fiber gaskets have a high-density and resist oil and coolant breakdown for a dependable seal
Output shafts have dual seals for double the sealing surface area keeping water and dirt out of your gear boxes
Triple input seals include an outer wiper seal for added protection against debris
Ensuring that your gear box is properly sealed helps extend gear life ensuring a smooth reliable ride
High Lifter portals all have dual idler gears to reduce stress and improve strength inside the gear box.
The additional idler gear distributes the torque more evenly throughout the gear set
Reduces stress being applied to the individual gear teeth compared to single idler gear boxes
Provides more reliable torque transfer under heavy acceleration and when tackling challenging terrain
Minimizes wear and promotes smooth dependable operation ride after ride

Can I still use my factory wheels with High Lifter portals? When installing a 4” portal you must run at least a 14” wheel. For Outlander models that come with an OEM 14” wheel those can still be used in combination with at least a 1” wheel spacer. When running 4” portals it is important to make sure that any wheel has no more than 5” backspacing.
