Built For Riders Who Want More Performance and Durability

Can-Am built the Defender HD11 to work hard and play even harder. Whether your weekends are spent buried in the mud, hauling heavy loads, or navigating some rough backcountry trails, your machine deserves parts that can handle serious abuse. Here at High Lifter we engineer our Portal Gear Lifts to give your Defender HD11 the extra clearance, torque and durability needed to tackle more demanding terrain.

Industry Leading Strength

We manufacture our Portal Gear Lifts with forged gear boxes that offer more strength and durability than cast or billet options.

  • Forged construction aligns the aluminum grain structure with the shape of the gear box for increased durability
  • Improved resistance to cracking and fatigue under heavy loads and aggressive riding conditions
  • Better impact strength for riders who regularly encounter rocks, roots and deep mud
  • CNC machined heat-treated steel gears provide precise fitment and dependable performance
  • Heavy-duty 5/16” steel backing plates features bent flanges and welded gussets for additional rigidity
  • Designed to handle the stress of larger tires and the increased torque from the internal gear reductions

Long-term Durability

Keeping unwanted contaminants out and lubrication in is critical for portal longevity. High Lifter portals are build with multiple layers of sealing to help keep your Defender HD11 performing ride after rider.

  • High-density Kevlar fiber gaskets provide a durable seal that resists oil and coolant breakdown
  • Dual Output shaft seals create additional sealing surface-area to help keep water and mud out
  • Triple input seals include an outer wiper seal for added protection against debris
  • A properly sealed system helps extend gear life and maintain a smooth ride even in harsh environments
  • Precision machined components help reduce wear and maintain proper gear engagement over time

Dual Idler Performance

All High Lifter portals utilize a dual idler gear design to help improve strength and reduce stress inside the gear box.

  • Additional idler gear helps distribute torque loads more evenly throughout the gear set
  • Reduced stress on individual gear teeth compared to single idler gear boxes
  • Improved torque transfer for better reliability under heavy acceleration and challenging terrain
  • Helps minimize wear while maintaining smooth and dependable operation

Portal Gear Lift Benefits

Portal gear lifts do more than just add height. They improve overall machine capability while helping protect important drivetrain components.

  • Increased ground clearance helps your Defender clear deeper ruts and larger obstacles
  • Lifting the machine at the hubs minimizes any change in suspension geometry
  • The internal gear reduction helps compensate for larger tires and additional weight of other accessories
  • Reduced strain on the drivetrain compared to installing oversized tires with a traditional lift kit
  • Improved engine breaking can reduce wear on braking components
  • Precision ground stainless steel rotors feature a slotted surface for improved cooling
  • Universal hub design allows for compatibility with multiple wheel bolt patterns
  • Backing plates are designed to work with and suspension components that are built to factor hub specifications
